Kennedy Redford were appointed by Alto Construct to provide temporary works design services for the installation of a large culverted drainage system crossing the main access to the new King’s Leadership Academy development in Bolton.

The scheme involved the removal of an historic pipe culvert and the installation of a large precast concrete culvert system.

The primary constraint in the construction of the culvert was that the main access was required to remain open to construction traffic for the duration of the works. This required temporary works design to ensure the installation could be executed safely and without constraining the main works.

Temporary works design included slope stability analysis, piling mat design, validation of crane lifting plans and site inspections.
